For the past few years, a small group of amazing young moms from the Brantford community formed a project called Parker’s Project. They met with over 150 local young moms to find out the answer to one essential question: What do you need to feel better supported as a parent?

Margot’s Place was then created in response to the following identified challenges and needs:

  • Sometimes being a mom can be lonely and I know I need to connect with other moms, but don’t know how or where to go

  • I’d like to be a part of a parenting group that welcomes all walks of life, has zero judgment and no religious affiliation

  • I’d like to do or make something during mom groups i.e. DIY painting, bath bombs, meal preparation

  • I want some balance between planned topics i.e. managing stress, parenting issues and an open group approach where I can just ‘be’ and connect with other moms who get it #thestruggleisreal

  • It would be nice to have my kids with me in some group sessions, but sometimes I’d love to have them in another room with someone so we can have ‘mom time’

  • I’m not a fan of groups but would feel comfortable in a one to one setting with a parent advocate or mom to mom peer who will listen and help connect me to community services

  • I’d love a hand filling out applications like; child custody, housing, Ontario Works

  • It would be cool to have multiple needs met all in one place
